License Procedures

1) An application should be made to the Provincial Police Department in the center, the District Police Department in the district centers, and the Gendarmerie Station in the villages.

2) Photocopy of identity card (the identity card will be searched during the original application, it will be returned to the relevant person after comparison with other documents. Citizenship number will be requested from those who do not have a citizenship number in their identity card),

3) 4 photographs taken within the last 1 year,

4) Fingerprint registration,

5) Criminal record document containing archive records (Criminal Record),

6) Health report stating that there is no objection to obtaining a Shotgun license (Family Medicine or State Hospitals)

7) Shotgun license fee receipt and No Debt Paper to be deposited to the Tax Office;

-Shotless Rifle Licenses are valid for 5 (five) years from the date of issue.

-Shotless Rifle Licenses are private. These include T.C. Identification Number, name, surname, age, nationality, job, residence and date of issue are shown.

– Everyone carrying a Shotgun is obliged to carry the Shotgun License with him and to show it to the relevant officers when requested.

– Shotguns that are not registered in the Shotgun License are considered unlicensed weapons, and judicial and administrative action is taken against those who carry them.

NOTE: The Issued Shotgun Licenses only grant the Carrying and Possession Authorization. In order to hunt, it is necessary to apply to the Regional Directorate of Forestry and get a Hunting Card.
